Our partners, Project Seagrass, will be restoring 3ha of seagrass as part of the Solent Seascape Project. For this to be a success we need the support of the local community.
One of the planting methods we will be using is replanting dislodged seagrass fragments, and that’s where you come in!
During the Winter storm season we will be harvesting and replanting any dislodged seagrass fragments found in Priory Bay, Isle of Wight. We will be meeting by the Old Church at St Helen’s to harvest and process seagrass fragments for planting.
Personal Kit: You will need a comfortable set of walking boots or Wellies and suitable clothing for the weather – we will be out processing fragments for 3 hours, so remember your layers.
Project Seagrass will provide: Gloves and antibacterial gel if required as well as all the necessary kit for harvesting fragments.
